IUVSTA Activities 
The Executive Council meeting, ECM-85 was held in Namur, Belgium, March 31-April 2. It was hosted by the Belgian Vacuum Society and was very enjoyable; Jean-Jacques Pireaux did an excellent job on all the arrangements in some very difficult personal circumstances. He organized a special history session on the Saturday afternoon to commemorate the beginnings of IUVSTA at a meeting in Namur.
The Division Program Committees for IVC-14 in San
Francisco, October 29-November 2, 2001 met in Namur on April 1 to determine
session topics and invited speakers.
Elsevier again committed to provide funding to support student participation in conferences. For 2000, the Elsevier Student Awards will support attendance at ECOSS-19 in Madrid.
IUVSTA procedures were made available as pdf files through the web site.
