VACUUM
and SURFACE SCIENCES CONFERENCE of ASIA and AUSTRALIA History The
VASSCAA
conference series is organized to create a new forum in Asia and
Australia to discuss vacuum, surface and related sciences, techniques
and applications. The conference
is officially endorsed by the International Union for Vacuum Science,
Technique and Application (IUVSTA).
The International Steering Committee of VASSCAA is comprised
of Vacuum Science Societies in five countries: Australia, China, India,
Korea and Japan. The conference
is organized once every three years, by the vacuum science societies
of member countries. The conference location rotates among cities in
Asia and Australia. The first VASSCAA was organized by the Vacuum Science Society of
Japan. This first conference
was held in September, 1999 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center,
Tokyo. It was attended by over three hundred scientists
from industry and universities. VASSCAA-2
was held in Hong Kong, at The University of Hong Kong, August
26 – 30, 2002. |
