Transfer of Bulletin
Perhaps you have wondered whether our News Bulletin has been disbanded. No, this is not the case. From now on the old printed version "NEWS BULLETIN" is being replaced by this new electronic version "IUVSTA NEWS BULLETIN". You will notice that the Issue Numbers continue on from those of the printed version.
This is a message of welcome from your President, harking back to his Inaugural Statement and emphasising some activities to which we could well give some thought at this time.
The editor describes here our new IUVSTA News Bulletin and how it will serve to archive reports on IUVSTA activities.
This is a summary of the important issues discussed during the 77th IUVSTA Executive Council Meeting and the associated Committee Meetings in Segovia, Spain in September 1996.
These high level scientific workshops are being organised by our Scientific Divisions on specially selected topics. Number 16 was presented during the period covered by this Bulletin. Check the list for reports on this and other past Workshops, and see details of those currently on offer.
This lists the forthcoming conferences, meetings and workshops which are being organised, co-organised or sponsored by IUVSTA. Links to Calendars of other related organisations are also given.
This was the President's Inaugural Statement as presented by Professor Robins after being installed as President at the 12th General Meeting of IUVSTA in Yokohama in September 1995.
This is a commemoration of Dr. H. Adam who served our Union in many ways during its early years.
Forthcoming ECM's
This will be a regular item alerting you to details of the agenda, program of meetings, and travel and accommodation advice of future Executive Council Meetings. Of course, due to delays in preparing this initial electronic edition of the Bulletin, ECM78 and ECM79 have now taken place but information concerning the current ECM is available to you here.
Closing Comments
This is your Bulletin and we are experimenting with a new format. Accept the Editor's invitation and let us hear your comments and suggestions by sending an e-mail to Lars Westerberg (westerberg@tsl.uu.se).
