During this triennium the main issue of the publications committee has been the further development and refinement of the home page, which went on line in May 1996. Among the new features are an on-line directory, with open access to contacts and member national vacuum societies, and password access for IUVSTA delegates. The administrative procedures manual, the statutes and the by-laws are now available on the web and replace earlier printed issues. Other improved or new items are an improved calendar and new conference series pages. Samples of course slides have been added to the education materials page. A major revision of the IUVSTA division pages is going on but some divisions have not yet delivered any input.
Keith Mitchell,
webmaster of AVS, succeeded Mary Weaver as webmaster in the beginning of the
triennium. John Grant took over as web editor in September 2000. The former
editor Lars Westerberg remains as assistant web editor. The home page has
recently moved to its own url address www.iuvsta.org.
